What a wonderful hotel. Beautiful location overlooking the Mikros Gialos inlet. Hotel staff, without exception, were friendly and eager to please - a smile on every face. Motor boat hire was a bonus. We have just spent a week at the San Nicolas Hotel on Lefkada. What a stunning spot in the south of the island. The hotel was small but had a lovely range of outside areas including a beautiful beach areas and bar as well as a pool area and bar. Dinner was served outside with the fantastic view if the weather was fine. Unfortunately we had four days of poor weather at the beginning of October. We had a Penelope Suite room which was very comfortable, and quiet. The staff were all very helpful.

The organisation of the holiday by Simpson both in the UK and at the hotel was first class. San Nicolas is a fine hotel and lives up to your expectations as described on the website. Whilst its pool area is ideal there is the added facility of its own Beach Bar with direct access to the sea as an alternative. The close proximity to the local village of Mikros Gialos gives plenty of scope for a variety of different local restaurants for lunch or an evening meal.

We had a lovely fortnight in Lefkas. The initial booking and organisation was good and all in all it felt like a calm and relaxed holiday experience. We liked the San Nicolas hotel, and the serving staff were pleasant and went out of their way to help. Our only slight complaint was that there were not enough shade umbrellas around the pool area and none on the lower pool, which would be a problem when the hotel was busier.

Wonderful hotel, beautiful location, so peaceful with stunning views. The water is crystal clear, great for snorkelling. The rooms are spacious with the most comfortable beds and kept exceptionally clean. All the staff are very helpful, friendly and welcoming with nothing being too much trouble. There are a lot of steps and a sloping path down to the water's edge where there are many sun loungers and tables and chairs on different levels. Probably not suitable for people with limited mobility although there is a lift down to the beach bar. Had a fabulous holiday and would definitely recommend and go back.

Hotel San Nicolas is in a great sunny location on the east side of the bay, with beautiful views, excellent sea access and surprisingly good snorkelling. The beach bar/restaurant was excellent with great service to the loungers especially. Loungers were very numerous and so always available with a good choice of shady/sunny and pool or seaside, but the ones by the sea lacked cushions so could have been a wee bit comfier perhaps. The Simpson suites were excellent and the beds really comfy, albeit the pillows were a bit firm for our taste. We found the local tavernas to be easy to walk to, of really high quality and overall thought them slightly better value for dinner than the hotel restaurant which is perhaps trying just a little too hard to be the local ‘classy’ option, albeit its location for an al fresco dinner is truly lovely. All in all a very decent and easy to travel to Mediterranean ‘bolt hole’ for a quiet and relaxing seaside break in Lefkada.

We spent a week in the San Nicolas Hotel, Lefkada in July '23. Everything about the trip, from booking onwards, was delightful. We loved the tranquil location and its stunning views. The vast pool and beach areas combined meant there was never any stress finding a sunbed. The staff were, without exception, friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent and we also ate dinner in the hotel restaurant a few times because the food was so good. There are two greek tavernas a shot walk away which are among the best I've ever visited in Greece (and there have been more than a few). Overall a wonderful, relaxing holiday.

Lovely hotel in a great location. The suites were very comfortable with lots of outside space to relax in and very peaceful. All the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Great beach bar serving delicious snacks and the main restaurant with a stunning view over the sea and right next to the inviting swimming pool. The beach is accessed by a lift from the hotel but there are still a fair number of steps to negotiate. There are also a few very good Tavernas in the village which are within walking distance. We will be back!

This hotel enjoys the most enviable position on the slopes of a tranquil bay at the waters edge. The staff are delightful, rooms and public areas spacious and coming in May meant everything is fresh and green with wonderful flowers everywhere. The beach bar service was outstanding with drinks and snacks delivered direct to your lounger by the sea - heaven! Local tavernas only a 5-10 mins stroll away for a change of scenery. Having a car meant we could go visit Nidri Waterfalls and take a ferry to Meganissi, as well as visit other bays of Sivota and Vassiliki. Simpson rep Yiannis was highly visible ensuring hotel were looking after us properly - he is a lovely person, as is his Manager Rania. Can’t wait for our next Simpson holiday!
